Reviews
Fantastic country pub with great food and drink. Delightful rural hamlet location near to Reading. Rooms look lovely (I haven't stayed there but got tour of rooms from landlord). Lovely pub garden with nice kids play area and a field to run around in.
Absolutely wonderful country pub with friendly engaging staff (exactly what one wants from a local), great Guinness, and sublime food. Rooms are clean and very well appointed. Chef James and staff Sophie and Billy were a delight and added a special flavour to the experience. Highly recommended!
What a find! A delightful lunch is this charming country pub. There is are daily specials which we all chose from. I had the 12 hour braised beef shoulder which we excellent. The wife had the John Dory and to quote "was super yummy" and my daughter the twice baked cheese and mushroom souffle "fantastic". Easily the best pub food we have had in ages. It was service with a smile and a thoroughly enjoyable stop enroute to Bristol. The only fault I could find with this pub is that it is a two hour drive from London!
